I believe in Christianity as I
believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I
see everything else. --- C. S. Lewis
Knowing about
something is not life changing, but embracing truth is life changing. Lewis said it well. He likened it to what we see in nature. When we see a beautiful scene or enjoy a
place where we find peace, everything else seems to fall in to place.
Being
transformed or changed by what Christ did for us makes all the difference in
the world to use and to those who we come in contact with. Far too many people put their investment in
humanity or in what people create apart from God, but I believe we have to
invest in what lasts, in what matters most which is people.
Seeing things
from a new perspective makes all the difference, and I need to see things
differently. How about you?
because that which is known about God
is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.
Trusting God to reveal truth is
important. Don’t miss what He wants to
reveal. Focus. That is a question that must be answered if
we want to live by faith and to make our lives count. What are we focused on?
What we are focused on may keep us from
seeing or experiencing God. On the other
hand, what we are focused on may open up even more of what God wants us to
experience.
But take a break, stop and listen, lean
in, stop performing and start letting the voice of God fill your ears, your
mind and your heart. We will begin to
experience our great and gracious God.
By experiencing God we will experience and enjoy what God has for us,
and that is excellent stuff.
The heavens declare His righteousness,
And all the peoples have seen His glory.
When the heavens declare our God, we will
take in more of what God has for us.
Therefore, my prayer for me today is that I will allow my time with God
to redirect my attention and change how I see everything.
