This has been a busy but incredible weekend as we celebrated Ruth’s
graduation and spent time with family.
We really are blessed. It has
also been our annual Memorial Day that reminds us so many other things as
well. I draw your attention to our
freedom, and the fact that we live in a great nation. This nation and our freedom were are not
simple gifts that just happened over time.
There have been men and women who have given their lives and fought for
our freedom. They paid the highest price
for us to enjoy what we have.
Yet we would agree that
this is not a perfect nation, the USA.
We have much that we need. We
have much that needs to be fixed, and we have people, including ourselves, that
desperately need God.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people whom He has chosen
for His own inheritance.
Our strength as individual
Christians and even as a nation comes from our connection to God. When we honor God, we find purpose. When we live connected to God, we find
strength. When we draw closer to God, we
live with meaning. I suggest that we
must live in a way connect us even more to God as we honor, worship and learn
from God.
Draw near to God and He
will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you
sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
That verse tells us that
we have problems. And we do. That verse tells us that we have a God that
will come close to us. And we do. But what is it that pulls us away from God?
Knowing and sharing what
God has done for us changes us in huge ways, and let’s take a look at the
passion of Paul. This is our
testimony. Our testimony lets others
experience God has we have. It often
opens a door for people to come to know God.
This past Sunday I shared
much of this with our church family, and I want to encourage you as well to
share your personal testimony with others.
Help people meet God. Help people
get a better picture of who God is and how incredible our God is.
Colossians 4:5-6 NASB
Conduct yourselves with
wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. 6 Let your speech always be with
grace, as though seasoned with
salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.
To stay connected to God
helps you connect to others. In fact I
believe the more we think about and connect to God the more we will talk about
God with the people we come in contact with.
Living life to the fullest and with purpose will open more places for us
to share
“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the
intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to
skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out,
and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!” ― Hunter S. Thompson
Prepare to share with
others what you have learned, what you have experienced and how God has
impacted your life. You have a
testimony. Here is what we should share
in our testimony:
YOU HAVE A TESTIMONY!!!
1 --- life before Jesus
2 --- how you met Jesus
3 --- life since you met Jesus
To share our testimony
will change us and change others.
Prepare now what you will share with others.
Ephesians 1:18 NASB
I pray that
the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you
will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
People I am praying for:
Pray for Larry Wood who is on a mission
trip in Arkansas and having health problems.
Continue to pray for Allyson Foley’s grandmother who is in the hospital.
Please keep on praying Joann Norman and Tim
Luther as each is recovering from surgery. Pray for McKayla Foreman, a preacher
friend’s daughter, who is serving a missionary this summer in Nevada.
