There are
times that some Scripture sticks out to you.
Yesterday was one of those days, and during our family devotion we read
about hope. As I have mentioned before I
see myself as a “broker of hope”. To be
able to give others real hope is really incredible.
Hope really
comes in a person rather than in a concept or a system. Hope is found in the person of Jesus. For me and I pray for others hope is Jesus
and my relationship with Him.
Take time as
you read these verses and think through what or who hope is:
Therefore, since we have been made
right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus
Christ our Lord has done for us. 2
Because
of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege
where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing
God’s glory. 3
We
can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they
help us develop endurance. 4
And
endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our
confident hope of salvation. 5
And
this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us,
because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
Truth underscores hope.
It is like a foundation that keeps it easy to see and easy to share with
others. God tells us several things that
we can hold on to so that hope thrives in each of us.
We have been made right with God.
Jesus gives us peace with God.
We do not deserve the grace and greatness of God, but we
have it.
Because of hope from Jesus we can look at our situations,
good and bad, differently.
What hope develops in us is stronger living and confidence.
God loves us. His
love fills our hearts.
That is one of those the greatest passages about hope and
how God has changed our lives. To know
what we believe and to be in relationship with God changes everything. May our hope grow and soar!
