God saved
you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a
gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the
good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are
God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the
good things he planned for us long ago.
There are several thoughts that I’d like to share. So many things
are going through my mind, but I remember that what God has done in the past
continues to guide and provide for my future. That’s what I want to ask
us to claim as truth in this devotion.
We started a new series at church yesterday that is going to be awesome
as we become consumed with God’s truth that will penetrate our lives and our
hearts. That means we allow what God has done prepare us for the days
ahead. It is not easy, but this is right and will change our lives.
What God says ought to overtake everything else.
Our salvation is by God’s doing and not our own. Grace is based
solely on what God has done. We can take no credit by something we have
done or by some merit we have.
Our lives have purpose from God. A master craftsman
with care and concern creates a masterpiece. God did that with our
lives. He has prepared each of us for greatness with huge amounts of
potential. That is a reality by His plan and totally for His glory.
When we believe that we are better than God or that we know better than
God, we have a major problem. It is at that time that we stop giving God
the glory. By claiming truth and acknowledging God we will move into the
realm where not only do we give God the glory, but we begin to strive for the
potential God has built into our lives.
I praise God for His gift of salvation. I plead with God to use my
life, my family and the ministry that I am part of to be used only for His
greatness.
See the potential God has
built into your life. Claiming truth will make that all the more
possible.
