Christmas countdown: Jesus

Take a few minutes to look through some verses about Jesus.

Micah 5:2  NLT
But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, are only a small village among all the people of Judah. Yet a ruler of Israel, whose origins are in the distant past, will come from you on my behalf.

All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).

Isaiah 9:6  NLT
For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Jacob was the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary. Mary gave birth to Jesus, who is called the Messiah.

And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”

Celebrate with your family on Sunday and at other times.  This Jesus who is talked about around the Christmas holiday is the one we can lean on throughout the year.  I am often amazed at what people will share at Christmas.

You might be on TV or hear on the radio stories of Jesus on the most secular of stations.  That doesn’t happen often, yet taking advantage of these times and sharing Jesus will change lives.

May God bless you as you celebration Christmas and make much of Christ!
