we are loved by God


Titus 3:4-6  NASB
But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, 5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,

When we come to see God’s love and begin to grasp how much God loves us, our lives will find much more stable ground.  God’s love is sure.  It is not something that will be pulled out from under us.

This love is sure, everlasting, unfailing and restores those who embrace it.  That is what Jeremiah 31:1-14 reminds us.  We can literally hold on to God’s love and wait for the blessings that His love will bring.

Here are a few quotes that I used in yesterday’s sermon:

One of the greatest evidences of God’s love to those that love him is, to send them afflictions, with grace to bear them.  ~ John Wesley

Every one of those concepts and thoughts about our God’s love rings true for our lives.  His love is sure.  His love is ever more real when life is hard.  Love begins and continues with God.

May we stop and spend extra time this week realizing how much God loves us!  He loves His kids!

1 John 3:1  NASB
See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

Have you heard of EDITH BURNS?

Edith Burns was a wonderful Christian who lived in San Antonio, Texas . She was the patient of a doctor by the name of Will Phillips. Dr. Phillips was a gentle doctor who saw patients as people. wash feet, sharing hope

  John 13:4-5,14 NLT  So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, 5 and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him… 14 And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. Jesus set the example we follow.  He served.  He valued and gave value to others.  That is why we choose to serve. For 18 years our church has shared an outreach called back2school, and for 16 of those years we have chosen to give students brand new shoes and socks as well as washing their feet.  It is one of the most important parts of this event. Washing feet is a humbling experience where both the give and the receiver learn how to share some moments that might change their lives.  Jesus said we should do this.  See the verse above.  Follow His example, do what He did, and give far more than you will ever know....
