we need His strength

Proverbs 24:10  nlt

If you fail under pressure, your strength is too small.

I get tired.  I sometimes battle depression.  But what I have come to understand is that when I choose to do things on my own, separated from God, I am weak, lost and in deep need.  We have all seen that our strength can be gone quickly.  Even when we are at our strongest or our best, our strength can be zapped.

Yet what I see happening often to me and to those who have chosen to lead is that when a spiritual battle comes up, we get weak quickly.  When we are sick physically, we surely don't have any strength.

What can we do about that problem?  We can't stop living.  We can't stop the world.  What we can do is trust Him more.  Trusting is not always easy, but it is always right.  God's promises are never too far away from us.  Trusting God is something we learn and must chose.  

Chris Tomlin's song Everlasting God always reminds me of the truth that God must lift us.  

Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord, 

We will wait upon the Lord, 

We will wait upon the Lord

Our God, You reign forever, 

Our hope, our Strong Deliverer. 

You are the everlasting God. 

The everlasting God. 

You do not faint. You won't grow weary

You're the defender of the weak.  

You comfort those in need.  

You lift us up on wings like eagle

Reality is ... we need God.  We need the strength of God.  He is offering us strength, His strength that doesn't have an end like ours does.  His strength is sweet because it comes with His presence.  There is possibility of soaring when we have no strength as long as we rely on God!

Isaiah 40:31 nlt

But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
