Being generous is at attitude, a choice and maybe even a
leaning of our heart. Being a generous
person will be seen in more areas than just one. This person will be gracious and in large
portions. They will use their time and
other resources in generous ways.
In Exodus 35 God has called His people to have a heart like
His. The chapter speaks about the
building of the Tabernacle. This was the
mobile structure that would move as God told the people to move. This was the place where God’s presence would
stay. It is the place of sacrifice and
the priest would intercede for their people.
We should use what we have, what we do and how we use our
time to honor God and as an offering to God on a daily basis.
Exodus
35:4-5 NLT
Then Moses said to the whole community of
Israel, “This is what the Lord has commanded: Take a sacred
offering for the Lord. Let those with generous hearts present the
following gifts to the Lord: gold, silver, and bronze;
Make sure you have a generous heart because you are focusing
on God, His goodness and His plan for your life.
Exodus
35:10 NLT
Come, all of you who are gifted
craftsmen. Construct everything that the Lord has commanded:
You are gifted by God and called to use your skills to
serve!
Exodus
35:21 NLT
All whose hearts were stirred
and whose spirits were moved came and brought their sacred offerings to the Lord. They brought all the materials needed for the Tabernacle, for the performance of its rituals, and for the sacred
garments.
The more time we spend with God our hearts will be stirred
by God. I believe this is where real
passion begins to run through our lives and dictate how give, how think and
even how we give.
Exodus 35:22 NLT
Both men and women came, all
whose hearts were willing. They brought to the Lord their offerings of gold—brooches, earrings,
rings from their fingers, and necklaces. They presented gold objects of every
kind as a special offering to the Lord.
Finally, a willing heart is one that has seen the grace of
God and been changed by God.
A generous heart… skilled people… stirred heart… willing
heart…

know as people who live generously because we have big, generous hearts!
