Julie and I had the honor to attending the Champions of Hope weekend with our partner ministry Samaritan’s Feet this past weekend. It was an incredible time of sharing our back2school ministry, networking with others and learning as well as resting and relaxing together.
Before the week gets moving too fast I wanted to share just a few takeaways with you. These are simply notes from my phone’s notepad that I typed in over the power packed 72 hours where God showed up in great ways and worked in places where I didn’t expect. Honestly, the overflow is amazing!
I pray some of this will inspire and encourage you as it has me…

Philippians 2:1-4 MSG
“If you’ve gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if his love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart, if you care —then do me a favor: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends. Don’t push your way to the front; don’t sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don’t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.”
Legacy leadership. Inspiration. Impartation. Increase.
It is your Capacity to influence others. Generated by vision. Produced by conviction that’s filed by purpose.
Self. Psalm 139:23-24. Lead yourself.
Servant. Sometimes you can have a bigger impact not being at the front.
Legacy leadership. Significance. It is the Ability to lead to what matters most. Have accomplished most they ambitioned for. But now they are ready to do what matters most.
We need to have a will and a way to leave a lasting legacy.
Agree. Love deeply. Put yourself aside. Help others get ahead. Forget yourself long enough to help others.
Finally, this was a powerful weekend, and I want to say thank you to my church family for allowing me to be away, thank you to our back2school leaders from many churches and thank you to those are influencing my life.
