See, God has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The Lord God is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.”
Lots on my mind. In fact the last several days have been almost a blur. God has continued to do so many things, but I have also experienced some of life’s most difficult things.
Death. I don’t like it, and it hurts much. Loosing a friend or a family member is hard to handle. But what is not so hard is trusting God and not fearing all because we know that God is in control, and God is our strength. Victory comes in many different forms, like the verse says. Death is also victory.
Take some time to look back through your choices and your reason for living. I am excited about some of the things and events ahead. I am excited that my children are finding life and choosing to live and enjoy it. Changes also bring victory, even when we don’t see it at first.
I leave us with some thoughts about a man who chose not to fear but to trust. He was powerful, and he had many of the same choices that you and I have. Either follow of God or don’t.
Hezekiah must have been an incredible king and a man of faith. There is more to the story than these verses, but the following verses give us a good background. Read. Take it in. Choose to trust.
2 Kings 18:3,5-7 NLT
He did what was pleasing in the Lord’s sight, just as his ancestor David had done… Hezekiah trusted in the Lord, the God of Israel. There was no one like him among all the kings of Judah, either before or after his time. He remained faithful to the Lord in everything, and he carefully obeyed all the commands the Lord had given Moses. So the Lord was with him, and Hezekiah was successful in everything he did. He revolted against the king of Assyria and refused to pay him tribute.
