who God is

Psalm 28:6-9    NLT Praise the   Lord !     For he has heard my cry for mercy.     The   Lord   is my strength and shield.     I trust him with all my heart.     He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.     I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.     The   Lord   gives his people strength.     He is a safe fortress for his anointed king.     Save your people!     Bless Israel, your special possession.    Lead them like a shepherd,   and carry them in your arms forever. After having a personal experience with God we are able to share with others who need to have similar experiences.    Right? By sharing we open the door for God to work similar ways in the lives of the people around us.    This could be those closest to us, like family or co-workers.    Could be that some random person hears your story and opens up to getting to know God. Use your story and your experience to help others, but don’t stop there.    I believe you have been where I have.    We have exper

reasons to stand firm

There are some songs that just grab your attention.  The one I share with you today first caught my attention during one of our addiction ministry services when the band sang it.  Then I heard is on the radio. It caught my attention in many ways.  First, I desire to stand firm in life.  There are many reasons why we might not be able to stand firm.  Second, we find great foundation when we stand in what is the strongest and best place.   That would be when we know we are our strongest.  As you read the words of this song think through it.  Maybe find the songs on the internet or radio. I pray it will grab your heart. Stand In Your Love By Bethel Music When darkness tries to roll over my bones When sorrow comes to steal the joy I own When brokenness and pain is all I know Oh, I won't be shaken, no, I won't be shaken My fear doesn't stand a chance When I stand in Your love My fear doesn't stand a chance When I stand in Your love My fear doesn'

real wisdom

James 3:17  NLT But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. Wisdom can be illusive. In other words wisdom can be hard to find.  Yet all of us need it.  As the verse above says real wisdom, God’s wisdom, looks far different from what other forms of wisdom look like. Pure and provides peace. Gentle and gracious. It is like fruit that comes from a person who has found favor. The verse above speaks volumes to me about how we measure and think of wisdom.  Where do we go for wisdom?  What do we do with wisdom when it is given or when we find it? God’s wisdom is always building us up.  This wisdom defeats ignorance and pride. This wisdom makes us and others stronger. James 1:5  NLT If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking

ready for battle

We are never alone.  Too often we allow ourselves to be robbed from and intimidated.  Our past takes on too much power in our lives if we let it.  We see our problems rather than our opportunities. We have an enemy, but it is time to be bold and remember that the enemy keeps coming back.  Yet He has been and will continue to be defeated. Don’t give Him ground that is not His. The following passage is from the Old Testament.  It was always God’s place to stay close to His people, and the battles that take place were always to keep God’s people pure and close to him. As you read through these verses make note of what will help you and me in our daily battles. Deuteronomy 20:1-4 NLT “When you go out to fight your enemies and you face horses and chariots and an army greater than your own, do not be afraid. The Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, is with you!   2 When you prepare for battle, the priest must come forward to speak to the troops.   3

character and grace

Today I am shared a post from one of Billy Graham’s grandchildren, Tullian Tchividjian.  As you will read in what Tullian shared his journey hasn’t been easy, but he has been blessed.  Even before you reach the end of the post understand that no one is too far from the grace of God.  Read on: I Failed to Become Like Daddy Bill A year ago today I woke up to the sad news that my grandfather had died. And even though we had been anticipating this moment for quite some time, it was still a shock. Regardless of age or cause, death is always jolting and painful. It is, after all, “the last enemy” (1 Corinthians 15:26).  As I sat on the edge of the bed, numbness came over me. The finality of it hit me hard. While my phone kept buzzing with calls and text messages from people sending me their condolences, all I could think about was how this was the first time since I came into this world in 1972 that I would no longer have access to Daddy Bill. In this life, I would never agai
