But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.
Wisdom can be illusive. In other words wisdom can be hard to find. Yet all of us need it. As the verse above says real wisdom, God’s wisdom, looks far different from what other forms of wisdom look like.
Pure and provides peace.
Gentle and gracious.
It is like fruit that comes from a person who has found favor.
The verse above speaks volumes to me about how we measure and think of wisdom. Where do we go for wisdom? What do we do with wisdom when it is given or when we find it?
God’s wisdom is always building us up. This wisdom defeats ignorance and pride. This wisdom makes us and others stronger.
James 1:5 NLT
If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.
Ask God for the right kind of wisdom. May we be found with God’s wisdom and truth as part of our every day lives.
