And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.
And be thankful. I like that.
Thinking over all the #back2school stuff in the past few weeks and the stuff coming this weekend… the only words that keeps running through my head is thankful.
I’d like to call out lots of people. But honestly there isn’t time or space to point you to all the incredible people. Therefore, I am going to point you to just a few that made my life, this outreach, all the people and churches involved better.
I want to start with my family. It has been a long time, in years, that we have been part of sharing this event and serving others. My family has been kind and supportive throughout. Thank you, Julie, for helping me and loving me even when things are so busy. Thank you Ryan, Rebecca and Ruth.
I want to continue with Cindy Adams. Cindy serves our church as our ministry assistant, and she is incredible. During #back2school time I am gone a lot, I am preoccupied and on the go. Cindy keeps the church running each day. Thank you, Cindy. You are a blessing.
I continue with Katie Whitlow. This lady took #back2school by storm with tweeks and ideas and work and so much more throughout the last six months. She has and is making us stronger and giving us the ability to grow even more. Thank you, Katie, for all your effort and time and excellent work.
Thank you Adrienne Hubbard for leading our church and caring for things like the millions of school supplies. Thank you Sean Hubbard for technical assistance on many levels and so many other tasks.
Thank you to our church, The Community Fellowship, for allowing me to dream and work and share and for working hard to pull this event off and to tell the many, many stories that come out of it.
Thank you to all 15 locations, the many churches, the more than 1,300 volunteers, to the extra helpers in our community and so many more. It takes all of us to serve these students and their families.
I am overwhelmed and thankful. So, I challenge you… And be thankful!
1 Thessalonians 5:18 NLT
Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.
1 Chronicles 16:34 NLT
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.
