The best of Christmas has less to do with the lights and gifts than most people think. It has more to do with what Christmas and the person of Christmas, Jesus, has done to us.
Take a few minutes to think about the change that God has made in your life. This might be better described as think about the person that God has created you to be.
Here we go!
1 John 3:17 NASB
But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?
Self or savior? Giver or taker? Hoarder or sharer? We know the truth. We know our hearts
Reach out to those who are hurting and struggling. Give them a picture of what God’s love is.
1 John 4:18 NASB
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.
Matthew 2:11 nasb
After coming into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell to the ground and worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
The wise men worshipped, gave and were in awe of God. Are we in awe of God?
Luke 2:20 nasb
The shepherds went back, glorifying and praising God for all that they had heard and seen, just as had been told them.
The shepherds were overcome with everything. It made them worship. Are we led to worship?
John 1:14 NASB
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
He is the gift of heaven, sent from the Father, to reveal glory, real glory that only can come from God. He is my gift from God!
Isaiah 9:6 NASB
For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
To us… for us … Wonderful counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace … to me … for me.
