“He has come from above and is greater than anyone else. We are of the earth, and we speak of earthly things, but he has come from heaven and is greater than anyone else. 32 He testifies about what he has seen and heard, but how few believe what he tells them! 33 Anyone who accepts his testimony can affirm that God is true. 34 For he is sent by God. He speaks God’s words, for God gives him the Spirit without limit. 35 The Father loves his Son and has put everything into his hands. 36 And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.”
Yesterday I brought back to our hearing and thinking the truth of salvation. Today I am taking this a step further. It might be a theology lesson, but really what I am sharing is simple truth about who Jesus is and who God destined His son to be.
Take a look, a close look, at the verses above. Here are some points that stick out:
Jesus is God sent and greater than any thing or any one.
Jesus speaks from God and for our understanding and growth.
Jesus is often misunderstood and discounted which shouldn’t be the case.
Jesus, when accepted, affirms the truth that God is supreme and holy and for His people always.
Jesus is loved by God, sent by God and part of the plan from God.
Jesus is the person of salvation and eternal life. Believing Him sets a person apart for salvation. Some will not believe.
There you have just a few points about our Savior, son of God, friend and sent one from God for our good and for the glory of God. Believe Him. Love Him because He first loved us.
We will do well to have a correct theology about Jesus. Maybe this is a good way to start the weekend. Think more about Jesus!
