faith over fear


Everyone deals with fear.  Fear of the virus.  Fear of the dark.  Fear of high places.  Fear of rejection.  There are all kinds of fear, yet there is something that replaces our fear if we will let it.  It is confidence.  It is faith in God.

Romans 8:37-28  NLT
No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.  And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love…

Whatever your perspective, God can change it.  He will also turn your fear into faith, your issues into confidence and your life into something that will go through tough or uncertain times.  

Fear can be overcome.  As Paul wrote in the verses above, he was convinced that nothing could or would change God’s love or God’s presence in our lives.  That is big time confidence. 

Why is that some people don’t believe God’s promises?  It could be because faith is something we can’t see with our own eyes or feel with our own hands.  Faith is something planted deep in our hearts that comes out through our words, our thoughts and our actions as well as impacting our feelings.

I pray that God will give us real confidence to deal with all our uncertainty and our fears.  Victory and success come only as we trust God.  Confidence changes everything.  Let God give you radical confidence in Him!

1 John 4:18  NLT
Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.

inspiration from C.S. Lewis

There are many people, past and present, who get our attention by what they write or say or share.  For me C.S. Lewis is one of those.  He was a prolific writer who continues to grab the attention of thinkers from many different points of view. Lewis first grabbed my attention when I was in 5 th grader, and our teacher, Mrs. Foy, shared The Chronicles of Narnia with our class.  It was a powerful time that this dreamer opened doors to thinking like I had never lived before.  He wrote of faith, of far off places and of strong figures who found their character rooted deep in God. C.S.
