Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.
Yesterday was Mother’s Day, and you know that is a very special day for all of us. In fact this day at church is always incredible. But it was different this year. We couldn’t be in the building. We were in the parking lot and in our cars. The celebration still happened.
I am blessed. First, God gave me a great mother who is now in Heaven. I miss her a great deal, but I have so many memories. She taught me, loved me, encouraged me, prayed for me, struggled for me, struggled because of me and even more. You know the drill and the truth, and that is why my brothers and I were so very blessed.
Ephesians 6:2 NLT
“Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise:
Next the incredible woman in my life would be my wife. We have been together for 27 years, and she proven over and over that she is a great catch. She is wise and kind. She puts up with me. You know that, too. Our children are so blessed by her. It is in Julie that I see so much good and kindness.
Proverbs 31:26 NLT
When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness.
And there are many other ladies that God has brought in to my life that have brought me truth and light, encouragement and wisdom, strength and great insight. I would not be who I am without the people who have poured in to my life.
I am grateful to God for each and every one of these gifts. Happy Mother’s Day.
