There are so many ways to look at people. It might be as a judge who is looking at people as a skeptic or as better than others. There is another way that some look at people, and it is that so many are better than you.
But what is the right way? Don’t see others as an obstacle but as an opportunity. Don’t see others as a problem but as a possibility. How do you look at others?
One of the places where we find the best way to look at and plan to share with others is the Bible. Paul was clearly an outspoken throughout the New Testament about the believer’s place in the world.
Our place is to make a difference and to help people see God and that each of us have huge worth. Follow Paul’s teaching and thoughts in Romans 12 with me.
Romans 12:9-21 NLT
Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. 10 Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. 11 Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. 12 Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. 13 When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality. 14 Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. 15 Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. 16 Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all! 17 Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. 18 Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone. 19 Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the Lord. 20 Instead, “If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads.” 21 Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.
Love others.
Honor others.
Celebrate with others.
Be patient with others.
Bless others.
Cry with others.
Be at peace with others.
Do good with and to others.
Serve others.
You get the point. I get it too. But it is a choice to live out the Gospel. Live out the truth that every body matter. Everyone has value. God made each of us with great skill and love. It is time for us to see others and treat others the way God calls us to treat them. We will be thought of and treated the way we think and treat others.
Matthew 7:12 NLT
Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.
