There is power in prayer. We know that or at least we have shared that understanding. I believe it is time for those of us who follow Christ to reconsider our commitments to prayer.
Prayer connects us to God.
Situations in life allow us to connect others to God through prayer.
What we believe about God determines the power of our prayers.
How we respond to situations is impacted by our commitment to pray.
Ephesians 3:14-19 NLT
When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, 15 the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. 16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Paul said it so well. When I think of you, I pray. He directed himself to prayer. Here is what Paul proclaimed in this prayer:
Ultimate power belongs to God.
By trusting God He is at home in our hearts.
Let your toots go down deep into God and His love.
Paul prayed that people would understand just how awesome and big the love of God is and may each experience His love.
Did you get that? Prayer and love are tied together.
Not only are they tied together, but those things complete those who choose to follow God.
