We need reminders. I have said this a number of times as we talked or read through these e-devotions. One of the passages of Scriptures that has continued to gain my attention as well as to roll through my mind is from the first chapter of Joshua.
Joshua and Caleb were the two spies that stayed close to what God promised His people. They knew the promise of the land made their people unique. One pastor said these men were “one in a million” because these two stood against the two million people who stood in the way of God’s people taking possession of this land.
For Joshua to lead the people somethings had to be givens. There were life points that had to stay strong.
These are true for us, and that is why I share the following verses. Read on…
Joshua 1:6-9 NLT
“Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them. 7 Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. 8 Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. 9 This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
You and I want to win at what we do. If that is true for you as it is for me, take note of some of these God given truths.
Be strong and courageous.
Follow the instructions given.
Study the book. Meditate on it.
Don’t be afraid or discouraged.
Success will come, the land will be given, the promises will come true, God will provide as we follow His guiding. That was true for Joshua. This is true for us.
Success comes as we follow God and His lead. Let’s follow!
