John 10:10 NLT
The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
There are givers and takers. God is a giver, and our enemy is a taker.
But how about you? Which are you? My full desire is to be a giver so much more than I am a taker. One of the ways I see this coming alive is in the way we believe what the verse above says.
Yesterday we talked about being alert and looking for where our enemy is working, and why are we looking for him? Because we know He is working, and I must be ready to deal with the enemy, His plan and the problem we humans have when we do things on our own.
One of my favorite reminders as of late is the song that I want to share with you today. It is North Point Worship and titled Death Was Arrested. The truth of this song points to the eternal giver we know as Jesus. He is trust worthy.
Read on and see how God speaks in your life.
Alone in my sorrow and dead in my sin
Lost without hope with no place to begin
Your love Made a way to let mercy come in
When death was arrested and my life began
Ash was redeemed only beauty remains
My orphan heart was given a name
My mourning grew quiet my feet rose to dance
When death was arrested and my life began
Oh, Your grace so free
Washes over me
You have made me new
Now life begins with You
It's your endless love
Pouring down on us
You have made us new
Now life begins with You
Released from my chains I'm a prisoner no more
My shame was a ransom He faithfully bore
He cancelled my debt and He called me His friend
When death was arrested and my life began
Oh, Your grace so free
Washes over me
You have made me new
Now life begins with You
It's your endless love
Pouring down on us
You have made us new
Now life begins with You
Our savior displayed on a criminal's cross
Darkness rejoiced as though heaven had lost
But then Jesus arose with our freedom in hand
That's when death was arrested and my life began
Oh, Your grace so free
Washes over me
You have made me new
Now life begins with You
It's your endless love
Pouring down on us
You have made us new
Now life begins with You
Oh, we're free, free
Forever we're free
Come join the song
Of all the redeemed
Yes, we're free free
Forever amen
When death was arrested and my life began
What a powerful song. We can live it out especially if we are ready to trust God at His word. Literally our death was taken we exchanged our bad for his good.
Check it out and share with others!
