Some prayers that often come to mind. You know we all go through tough times, but have you noticed that some situations bring to mind Scriptures you have learned or heard in the past? Happens to me a lot.
These verses stick out for several reasons. I hope as you read through them you might be encouraged to use them today or some day…
Psalms 19:14 NASB
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.
Ephesians 1:18 NASB
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
Those two prayers have helped me connect to or receive from God so that my reactions and understanding would grow and be more like His best for me.
1 Chronicles 4:10 NASB
Now Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that You would greatly bless me and extend my border, and that Your hand might be with me, and that You would keep me from harm so that it would not hurt me!” And God brought about what he requested.
1 Kings 4:7-9 NASB
And now, Lord my God, You have made Your servant king in place of my father David, yet I am like a little boy; I do not know how to go out or come in. 8 And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people who are too many to be numbered or counted. 9 So give Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, to discern between good and evil. For who is capable of judging this great people of Yours?”
Those two prayers, from Jabez and Solomon, speak to us about praying for ourselves and asking God to increase our character. The outcomes of both were incredible.
And I will close not with a prayer but a promise when we pray.
Jeremiah 33:3 NASB
'Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.'
May our prayers connect us to God in ways we may have never or have rarely experienced. Have a great day!
