John 3:16 NLT
For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
That is the verse we all know. We may quote it and know it best from a different translation of the Bible, but this is the pinnacle of Bible knowledge and our truth as a believer. God loves us and gave His son. We are blessed.
So lets take a trip. Well, it might be a little different kind of trip. For just a few minutes stop at the mile marker 3:16 in various chapters of the Bible. Some will stick out more than others. But these are vital to our faith. I have chosen these to remind us how to stand strong in faith.
Read on. Take notes. See what God says to you!
Matthew 3:16 NLT
After his baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on him.
The ministry that Jesus had was directed by the Father. There was more to come.
2 Corinthians 3:16 NLT
But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
It is important when someone turned to God and away from their own way. That is when great things and changes begin to take place.
Philippians 3:16 NLT
But we must hold on to the progress we have already made.
Don’t miss this. Hold on. We’ve come a long way, but there is more to come.
Colossians 3:16 NLT
Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.
Let His truth stay in you. Let it fill your lives.
1 John 3:16 NLT
We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.
We know real love that comes from God to you and me.
I close with another address. 3:17 … that next verse in John is amazing because this is the purpose Jesus fulfilled. Some feel judged when in fact God really wants us to fell and know we are loved by Him!
John 3:17 NLT
God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
