I'm so blessed... so pray

Sunday morning I woke with the following song on my mind.  I think is it important to note what is on your mind.  Also it is important to saturate your thoughts, your walk and all you do with things that impact your thinking…

“I’m so blessed” by Cain

I'm so blessed, I'm so blessed.  Got this heartbeat in my chest

No, it doesn't matter about the rest.  If I got You, Lord, I'm so blessed, I’m so blessed.  Hallelujah, I'm blessed.  … And when I count the problems that I see.  Hope looks all but gone.  But when I count the ways You're good to me.  You got me counting all day long, oh, yeah.  I’m so blessed, I'm so blessed.  Got this heartbeat in my chest.  No, it doesn't matter about the rest.  If I got You, Lord, I'm so blessed

Confess it… we are blessed!  No matter what anyone else says.  I am blessed.  You are blessed.  Understand that fact.

Confess truth.  We need God.  And like I shared last week, we need revival from God that will change our lives, our families, our country and our churches.   Literal revival that leads us spending time in the presence of God and being changed forever by Him.

Acts 3:19-20  NLT

Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. 20 Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and he will again send you Jesus, your appointed Messiah.

To repent is to change and go a different direction.  Not in that verse what the outcomes are of turning to God.  He will forgive our sins and refresh our lives.  Literally this has impact that goes far beyond today and in to eternity.

There are so many times in history when God showed up, revival swept through lives and nations.  My prayer is that it will happen again.

Habbakkuk 3:2  NIV

LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, LORD. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.

I have heard.  But I want to see and experience it for myself, for my family and far beyond!

James 4:8  NIV

Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

That is the key.  Come near to God.  Make some clear choices to change.

John 1:14  NASB

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us; and we saw His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

It is God in the flesh, Jesus send by the Father, that changes our lives.  Beyond HIm.  Look at His glory and spend time there because that is where our lives will change.  That is where we will learn how to live differently.

May we pray for and seek revival that changes everything!

Psalm 80:19  NIV

Restore us, LORD God Almighty; make your face shine on us, that we may be saved.

Have you heard of EDITH BURNS?

Edith Burns was a wonderful Christian who lived in San Antonio, Texas . She was the patient of a doctor by the name of Will Phillips. Dr. Phillips was a gentle doctor who saw patients as people. His favorite patient was Edith Burns.  One morning he went to his office with a heavy heart and it was because of Edith Burns.  When he walked into that waiting room, there sat Edith with her big black Bible in her lap earnestly talking to a young mother sitting beside her.  Edith Burns had a habit of introducing herself in this way: "Hello, my name is Edith Burns.  Do you believe in Easter?" Then she would explain the meaning of Easter, and many times people would be saved.  Dr. Phillips walked into that office and there he saw the head nurse, Beverly. Beverly had first met Edith when she was taking her blood pressure. Edith began by saying,"My name is Edith Burns. Do you believe in Easter?"  Beverly said, "Why yes I do."  Edith said, "Well, what do you ...

wash feet, sharing hope

John 13:4-5,14 NLT  So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, 5 and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him… 14 And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. Jesus set the example we follow.  He served.  He valued and gave value to others.  That is why we choose to serve. For 18 years our church has shared an outreach called back2school, and for 16 of those years we have chosen to give students brand new shoes and socks as well as washing their feet.  It is one of the most important parts of this event. Washing feet is a humbling experience where both the give and the receiver learn how to share some moments that might change their lives.  Jesus said we should do this.  See the verse above.  Follow His example, do what He did, and give far more than you will ever know....
