We are headed to the weekend once again, and my question for each of us who follow Jesus is how will we serve? Think about it.
Often we focus on ourselves and our needs. It is important that we live a life of balance and strength. Make much of God and our following Him. Do take care of yourself, but choose to use who you are, what you have, and where you are going to make a difference with the people around you. Think about it.
Proverbs 3:27 NLT
Do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it’s in your power to help them.
When you can, choose to serve. Use what you have to help those around you.
Mark 10:14 NASB
But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and said to them, “Allow the children to come to Me; do not forbid them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
The children are important. The is why back2school is so important for our church and those who partner with us.
Hubert Humphrey said, “The moral test of government is how that government treats those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the elderly; those who are in the shadows of life, the sick, the needy and the handicapped.”
That is true of a nation, a church, the family, any business and beyond. May we be treating people with honor and love as Jesus did the same. We are gifted so that we can serve others.
Galatians 5:13 NLT
For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.
You get it, I am sure. I get it, and what an honor it is to serve others. When we have the ability to make a huge difference in the lives of the people around us. So serve or help, don’t hold back!
How will you support and share back2school 2024? This weekend in Martinsville we will be at Walmart to ask people to help with school supplies and to register more students. Email your questions or thoughts (emailback2school@gmail.com) and go to www.gob2s.com for more details.
