lifting the light and support

 


Once again I want to share some of the greatest things that the ministry in Cuba that stand out to me.  Today I share with you about SUPPORT.  


I am grateful for those people who have chosen and given to support the mission tip I get to be part of.  I am over the tip grateful for the support that i get to bring to the friends and partners in Cuba through our time together, and finally, I am grateful for the support that God has given His church across the world including in Cuba.  


This type SUPPORT can only be through the hand and goodness of God.  Thanks to each who have been part of this support.


Let me move forward with some great truth about our God.  When we lift up His son, we are doing what we having been ordered to do, what we have the responsibility to do and what we have the privilege to share.


John 12:32  NLT  

And when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw everyone to myself.”


Do you get that promise?  Jesus lifted changes so many things.  First, people see who the son is.  He is the one sent to be savior and not judge, encourager and not punisher.  The promise is from God through the son about what happens when Jesus is lifted up.


Think about Jesus like a light.  He actually is the light of the world.  When you lift up a light, the darkness is push aside.  That is what happens when Jesus the light is lifted.  The darkness of this world and the darkness of the struggle so many are engulfed in is vanishing.


John 12:46  NLT  

I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark.


May we lift Jesus, lift the light, and watch how God works to change lives.  Yours and mine.  Those people we know and those we don’t.  That is what Jesus is famous for!

Have you heard of EDITH BURNS?

Edith Burns was a wonderful Christian who lived in San Antonio, Texas . She was the patient of a doctor by the name of Will Phillips. Dr. Phillips was a gentle doctor who saw patients as people. wash feet, sharing hope

  John 13:4-5,14 NLT  So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, 5 and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him… 14 And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. Jesus set the example we follow.  He served.  He valued and gave value to others.  That is why we choose to serve. For 18 years our church has shared an outreach called back2school, and for 16 of those years we have chosen to give students brand new shoes and socks as well as washing their feet.  It is one of the most important parts of this event. Washing feet is a humbling experience where both the give and the receiver learn how to share some moments that might change their lives.  Jesus said we should do this.  See the verse above.  Follow His example, do what He did, and give far more than you will ever know....
