We are all looking for reasons. It might be something personal, for the family or even for something we are passionate about like the church. But the reasons we choose to do things matters.
As we close another week and move in to the weekend be challenged to look for the reasons you need. Let the truth filter your decisions as well as your thoughts and feelings. Be careful not to miss the best for you and those you care about.
Reasons to smile and have joy.
Colossians 1:11 NLT
We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy,
John 15:11 NLT
I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!
Reasons to be grateful.
Psalm 138:1-3 NLT
I give you thanks, O Lord, with all my heart; I will sing your praises before the gods. 2 I bow before your holy Temple as I worship. I praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness; for your promises are backed by all the honor of your name. 3 As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength.
Reasons to share your story.
1 Peter 3:15 NLT
Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it.
Reasons to quit.
First, don’t. Never, never, never give up. Keep on.
2 Chronicles 15:7 CSB
But as for you, be strong; don’t give up, for your work has a reward.”
Galatians 6:9 NLT
So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
There are lots of reasons. Let that sink in, and have a great weekend!
