There is power in the knowing the truth. Some things seem to be true while others you might have to be convinced about. The Bible is the right place and the best resource, really the only place, to learn the truths of God.
John 12:24-26 NLT
I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernelsāa plentiful harvest of new lives. 25 Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who care nothing for their life in this world will keep it for eternity. 26 Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me.
Death is a reality. That leads us to think of what happens after death. Heaven and Hell.
These verses donāt speak of physical death. It talks about a seed that is planted in the ground and dies so something else can live from it. The same is true for the next verse. We are to understand about loving our lives.
Do we love Jesus more than other things? Are we more worried about what we need or about what God wants? Gods way is to lose ourselves and our wants in what Godās plan.
We win if we care more about what is eternal than what is temporal. Loving God changes our perspective. Think eternal. Honoring God means we will make decisions based on eternity and what God wants.
I leave you with a verse that is important to my faith. It is from Paul, and I have wrestled with this verse for a long time. It will give great insight into the verses from John 12 that I shared above.
Galatians 2:20 NLT
My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
