It is common for verses to seen similar in wording and even in theme. And those things ought to remind us of what God says. Take it to heart. Remember it and even tell others.
This year my brother and I have been reading and memorizing the book of James. The first chapter is packed with meaning and what we need to apply. Move on to this Sunday’s sermon from 1 Peter 1 and we find common ground. This is truth we need to apply.
Here are the verses. Spent come time here today.
James 1:2-4 NLT
Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

1 Peter 1:6-7 NLT
So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. 7 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
Joy in suffering is the theme. Remember that enduring is a good thing, but you are not allow. God is with you and provides truth all along the journey. Our faith is a gift from God.
We are growing. Suffering is part of life even if we do not like it, but through the suffering we get stronger and even should trust God more.
Take another look at these verses, and let God work in and through your life each day!
